ISES Cleveland received a fantastic treat in 2014 when Casey Nance treated our members to a tour of the most exclusive areas of Progressive Field for an all-star networking event! We’re proud to count the Cleveland Indians as ISES Cleveland members, and we asked Casey to share more about herself for the ISES community!

What led you to sign up with ISES?
The Cleveland Indians joined ISES because of the tremendous networking opportunities. To be able to market the ballpark to such creative and innovative event professionals in the Cleveland area was an amazing draw, as well as the various education events. Not only are we looking to grow our business, but also grow our knowledge as to how we can make our events better and more memorable to our clients. The neworking and education aspects definitely brought us in, and we have been so pleased to be a part of ISES!
What makes you and your company special?
I believe our ability to work as a team makes us very special. Just like the players out on the field, everyone in the event operations group works together in order to make every party a success. Our team is extremely diverse across many departments – including Ballpark Operations, Communications, Security, Marketing, and our catering company, Delaware North. The ability to have so many experienced and passionate people working together leads to a very collaborative environment and sets us apart from other venues.
What’s the most fun special event you’ve worked on?
One of the best events I have worked on was a Wedding Reception on the 4th of July 2014. This event took place in our Terrace Club, overlooking the entire ballpark – with a game being played at home! The bride and groom were HUGE Indians fans, and they treated their guests to a full ballpark themed buffet and a great evening watching the Tribe defeat Kansas City. The event ended in a full fireworks show, a visit from Slider, a personalized scoreboard message, and very happy couple. It was definitely a night that I will never forget!
What do you like most about being an ISES member?
My favorite part about being an ISES member is the ability to meet new people. I love attended the networking events and having the opportunity to speak to so many passionate people across the event industry. Everyone is always so friendly and welcoming, and I love hearing the exchange of ideas and suggestions to help eachother grow. The events are always held in beautiful and unique venues, so the ability to see something new and exciting is always great too.

If you’re weren’t in the special-event industry, what would you be doing?
If I were not in the event industry, I would probably be a college basketball coach. I played 4 years at the University of Dayton, and I love the competitive nature of sports. I had an amazing college experience, so being able to help other girls like me succeed both academically and athletically is a dream of mine.
